SAUFS Announced Its Third Executive Committee

The third executive committee of Sylhet Agricultural University Film Society has announced 2019-20. On the occasion, Monayem Hossain and Salauddin Shaon, presidents of the 2018-19 executive committee, announced the new 36-member committee at a function held at a restaurant on Nayasarak in Sylhet on Wednesday night. Iftekhar Ahmed Fagun, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Fisheries, has been elected chairman of the new executive committee. M Saifur Rahman, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, has been elected general secretary. Prof. Sanjida Parveen Ritu, Advisor to Sylhet Agricultural University Film Parliament, Associate Professor MM Mahbub Alam, Assistant Professor Rahul Bhattacharya, Taufiqur Rahman were present as guests on the occasion. In their speeches, the guests gave various suggestions and instructions to the staff of Sylhet Agricultural University Film Parliament. Also speaking were outgoing members Asif Uddin bin Noor, Uttam Kumar, Pallab Talukder, Deep Talukder, Mahdi Mohammad, Kauser Hamid, Sulagna Saha. The new executive committee includes vice-presidents Nafiz Mashroor, Sudipta Dhar Dipta, Nazmul Rifat, Saki Tahmid Rishan, Zaki Hossain, joint general secretaries Golam Kibria Rabbani, Anik Sinha, Natasha Tasnia, Rahat Islam and Sourav Dev, finance secretary Golam Kibria Tasnimul Haque Ifti, Co-Organizing Secretary Ibne Sina, Festival and Exhibition Secretary Mubtasim Ahmed Abir, Office Secretary Rajibul Islam, Public Relations and Publicity Secretary Sabyasachi Niloy, Entertainment and Decoration Secretary Siddiqur Rahman Sujan, Film Reading Circle Secretary Shatabdi, Dipankar Adhikari, Research and Publication Secretary, was elected. Besides, Rakib Al Mahmud, Setu Roy, Ashrafuzzaman Arif, Sajib Kumar, Yasin Ahmed, Rabiul Awal Bhuiyan, Saqlain Mahfuz, Zikrul Amin, Upayan Anam, Akhtaruzzaman Bandhan, Hridoy Gop, Afzal Hasan Saurabh, Kazi are the executive members. Sabbir and Al Imran Toha have been elected.
It is to be mentioned that Sylhet Agricultural University Film Society started its journey in 2016. Since 2016, they have been organizing the Sylhet International Film Festival to encourage independent filmmaking. The festival has already responded. The third meeting was held on 23-26 April.
