Antorjal Film Festival will kick off tomorrow


An online-based film festival titled ‘Antorjal Film Festival’ will be held from 24 June organized by Sylhet Agricultural University Film Society (SAUFS). Till 31 May, the organizers has received submission of short films of lengths not more than three minutes. Among them 12, officially selected films will be screened in the festival. The festival will be three days long.
The theme of the first edition of this festival is ‘Home Craving’. Filmmaker Shameem Akhter and Muktadir Ibna Salam played the role of Jury members of this festival.
‘We want to express the beautiful thoughts of the people in films, who confined in their homes due to COVID-19 Pandemic. People can enjoy the films to break the monotony. The screening will be online and open for all’, said Iftekhar Ahmed Fagun, the president of Sylhet Agricultural University Film Society.
The films will be screened on SAUFS’s facebook page (http://facebook.com.saufsofficial) and Youtube channel (http://youtube.com/saufsofficial). The best three films will be awarded. Additionally, after every film screening, the filmmaker will be live to answer the audiences.
To encourage independent filmmaking, Sylhet Agricultural University Film Society started its journey on 2016. The society organizes a prestigious international film festival titled ‘Sylhet Film Festival’ along with others workshops, screenings, seminars & discussions related to films.
